Join us to learn more about The Opportunity Project and an open discussion on data challenges and opportunities in Puerto Rico to address key community, social, and economic issues.
Puerto Rico is a main focus of TOP sprints this year. We hope that after this session, key stakeholders submit problem statements to our team that challenge data users, data consumers, technologists and various sectors to develop solutions to solve needs in Puerto Rico including:
● Childhood poverty
● Reimagining schools
● Mental health
● Environmental justice
● Address & geospatial infrastructure
● Entrepreneurship & access to capital
We invite you to join on this hands-on discussion to brainstorm these or other priorities in Puerto Rico's data, tech, social impact ecosystem and help make data a driving factor in addressing the most pressing challenges in the island.
As a valued stakeholder and advocate, your voice in this discussion is critical to help empower all sectors in co-creating new opportunities for collaboration and action.
The Opportunity Project (TOP) is an initiative of the Census Open Innovation Labs that brings together technologists, government, and communities to co-create digital products or solutions that serve individuals and communities nationwide. Each year, federal agencies, local governments, and NGOs serve as sprint leaders, identifying high-priority challenges and facilitating 12-week technology development sprints that bring together these cross-sector collaborators. To date, 175+ data-driven digital products have been created, addressing real life challenges that impact communities.
The problem statement submission for The Opportunity Project (TOP) Puerto Rico 2022 sprint cycle is now open. We will be reviewing submissions on a rolling basis until April 8, 2022.
